The Ombudsman

Ombudsmen are volunteers, designated by the Commanding Officer to serve as a communication link between the squadron and its families, as well as trained information and referral specialists. An Ombudsman is ready to support, direct, and empower you with all of the resources available to Navy families. Ombudsmen are available to assist during emergencies, and other times of need. All Ombudsmen follow confidentiality guidelines as required by the Navy Family Ombudsman Program.

Ombudsmen can point you in the right direction when it comes to the following (not an exclusive list):

  • Financial support

  • Relocation

  • Food resources

  • Counseling

  • Spouse Employment

  • Volunteer opportunities

  • Education

  • Deployment support

  • …and much more!!!

Join the HSM 40 Ombudsman E-mail distribution list to stay informed of local events, free stuff for military and their families, and resources. Also, questions and concerns about squadron life, PCSing, etc., are always welcome.

I am YOUR Ombudsman…“Standing By Ready to Serve”

Sincerely,
Ms. Leeann Staples
