CMDCM(AW/SW) Chuck Eakley
Command Master Chief Charles “Chuck” Eakley is a native of the Bronx, New York. He graduated from the High School of Music and Art in 1989 and enlisted in the United States Navy in February 1996. He then completed basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, in 1996 and Sonar Technician “A” school in San Diego, California, in 1997.
Eakley’s sea duty assignments include USS Peterson (DD 969), USS Bulkeley (DDG 84), USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), USS Kauffman (FFG 59) as command senior chief, Patrol Coastal Squadron 1 as command master chief, USS Arlington (LPD 24) as command master chief, and Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 211 as command master chief.
Ashore, Eakley served at Transient Personnel Unit at Puget Sound, Washington, as command senior chief and at Command Undersea Surveillance in Virginia Beach, Virginia, as operations and training department leading chief petty officer.
Eakley is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, Rhode Island, and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course. In 2018, he completed the Executive Leadership Symposium at Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various unit, campaign, and service awards. He is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) Specialist (Enlisted).
