CMDCM (AW/NAC/IW/SW) Dominic A. EllisA native of Denver, Colorado, Command Master Chief Ellis enlisted in the United States Navy in November 1999. After completing boot camp at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, he attended Cryptologic Technician Collection “A” School in Pensacola, Florida and a follow-on “C” School in Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

As a Cryptologic Technician, he served as a signals analyst at Naval Security Group Activity (NSGA) Medina, and a cryptologic direct support element special signals operator and fleet naval air training and operating procedures standardization 
(NATOPS) evaluator at Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Misawa, Japan, and Navy Information Operations Detachment (NIOD) Brunswick, Maine.  Additionally he served as the senior enlisted representative for the National Security Agency/Central Security Service’ Office of Signals Analysis and as the cryptologic collection manager and plans and tactics department leading chief petty officer aboard USS Momsen (DDG 92).
 
As a command senior enlisted leader, Ellis has completed tours as the command senior chief of the “Roughnecks” of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (
VQ) 7, and as the command master chief of the “World Watchers” of VQ-1.
 
In April 2022, Ellis reported as the command master chief of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 34, the “Blue Blasters”.

Ellis holds a Master of Science in Project Leadership and Management from Regis University and is qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Strike/Flight Medal (6 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal (2 awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards); as well as multiple unit and campaign awards.​
