CMDCM (AW/SW/NSW) Maurice Purley
Command Master Chief Maurice Purley is a 2012 graduate of Excelsior College. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice and an associates degree in Military Science. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1994 and reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL where he completed both basic and seaman apprentice training that same year.
He has completed assignments on USS Tarawa (LHA-1) homeported in San Diego, California; USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) homeported in Yokosuka, Japan; Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy; Naval Technical Training Center, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas; Strategic Weapons Facility, Kings Bay, Georgia; Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/U.S. 6th Fleet, Naples, Italy; Naval Support Activity, Manama, Bahrain, Center for Security Forces, Virginia Beach, Virginia and command master chief for the USS Mason (DDG-87) homeported in Norfolk, VA.
He assumed his current duties as command master chief for Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 14 homeported in Norfolk, Virginia in February 2020.
He has earned his surface warfare, aviation warfare, nuclear weapons security and master training specialist qualifications. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 200 (Khaki) and the CMC/COB Capstone Course Class 125.
Purley's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy And Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various campaign and unit awards.
