CMC Jeremy Buyok
Master Chief Jeremy Buyok is a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and entered Naval Service in August 1992. He completed Recruit Training at Naval Recruit Training Center San Diego, California, and Aviation Structural Mechanic Hydraulic “A” school in Millington, Tennessee. Following “A” school he reported to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, where he completed the P-3 Orion Airframe and Hydraulic System Fleet Replacement Aviation Management Program qualifying as a P-3 Orion maintenance technician.
In March 1993 he reported to NAS Willow Grove, PA where he would spend the next 11 years performing maintenance and leading Sailors in Patrol and Reconnaissance Squadron (VP) 64 and VP-66. During his tenure at Willow Grove he promoted through the ranks to First Class Petty Officer and served as Leading Petty Officer for several aircraft maintenance divisions to include the airframes division, quality assurance, and maintenance control. In December 2004 he transferred to Fleeet Logistics Support Squadron (VR) 48 in Washington D.C., where he continued to display sustained superior performance. In 2006 he was selected as the command’s Sailor of the Year. In 2007 his hard work paid off when he advanced to the coveted rank of Chief Petty Officer. In this rank he served as the division chief for both the quality assurance and maintenance control divisions.
In 2008 he transferred to NAS Jacksonville, FL where he would spend the next six years in various commands. He joined VR-58 where he continued to excel in aviation maintenance and performed a short tour with NOSC Jacksonville where he led the training department. It was during this tour that he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer and transferred to Commander, Navy Air Forces Reserve to serve as the aviation depot liaison for the Navy’s Southeast Region. Following these successful tours in Jacksonville, he reported to the Tactical Support Wing at Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, TX where he served as the maintenance coordinator, maintenance senior chief, and the maintenance control lead inspector. During this tour he promoted to the highest rank an enlisted Sailor can achieve, Master Chief Petty Officer, and assumed the role of maintenance master chief for the command. At the conclusion of his tour he was selected to serve as a command master chief and reported to Navy Operational Support Center Tampa, FL. In August 2020 he transferred to VP-62 and assumed the role of command master chief.
Buyok is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Command Leadership School, and Reserve Senior Enlisted Management Course. He holds a master’s degree in Emergency Disaster Management from Trident University, a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University, and has a Federal Communications License.
Buyok has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various other unit and service awards.
