Command Master Chief
CMDCM (AW/SS) Eric Frank

Master Chief Eric Frank, a native of Del Rio, Texas, enlisted in the Navy in 1996, and reported to Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, Illinois, in June 1996. He attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School and began his career as an undesignated striker on submarines. He became a Machinist's Mate in 1998, and was selected for the Command Master Chief (CMC) Program in 2021. He is a graduate of the US Senior Enlisted Academy and completed the CMC/Chief of the Boat (COB) course in 2016.
At sea, he served on USS Louisiana (SSBN 743 Blue) and USS Texas (SSN 775) as the auxiliary division leading petty officer, USS Virginia (SSN 774) as the auxiliary division leading chief petty officer, and most recently as COB aboard USS California (SSN 781).
His shore tours include service at Naval Submarine School as the lead instructor for Basic Enlisted Submarine School, RTC Great Lakes as a recruit division commander, at Commander Submarine Squadron 12 as the damage control assistant, and most recently as the senior enlisted leader for Submarine Training Facility, San Diego, California.
He is serving as the CMC aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).
Frank’s decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various other personal and unit awards.
