CMDCM (SW/AW) Craig T. Sinclair



Command Master Chief Craig T. Sinclair is a native of Apopka, Florida.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1994.  Upon completion of Basic Training at Recruit Training Command Orlando, FL he reported to apprenticeship training in Orlando, FL.

Upon graduation of apprenticeship training, he reported to his first duty station, Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 51 in Atsugi, Japan where he was promoted to Aviation Electricians Mate (AE) Third Class.  In August 1997 he attended AE “A” School in Pensacola, FL. 

After graduation from AE “A” School, his follow on assignments  include: HSL-40 as Aviation Electricians Mate work center supervisor; Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 7 as leading petty officer for AV/ARM; Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training, Unit Jacksonville, FL (CNATTU JAX) as an instructor where he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2007; HS-14 as maintenance chief and was promoted to Senior Chief  Petty Officer in 2013;  Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Atlantic (HSMWINGLANT) as maintenance supervisor; Patrol Squadron (VP) 5 as detachment senior enlisted leader and maintenance supervisor and was selected to the Command Senior Chief Program in 2016.

He assumed duties as command senior chief of the USNS Lewis B. Puller (T-ESB-3) Gold MILCREW where he was promoted to Command Master Chief in August 2017 and served as the first CMC of the now USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB 3) Gold MILCREW.  In September 2017, he transferred to Unmanned Patrol Squadron (VUP) 19 where he once again assumed the role of CMC.  He arrived at Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 8 in March of 2021 where he serves as the current command master chief.

He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 188 (Gold) and CMC/COB Class 165.  Additionally, Sinclair has earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist designations.

His decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6) and various unit and campaign awards.
