Lt. Cmdr. Amy "#hashtag" Davis
Lt. Cmdr. Amy Davis, a native of Anderson, South Carolina, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2011, earning a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics. She earned a master’s in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2019 and received her Wings of Gold when designated a Naval Aviator in December 2012.
Davis began her operational flying with the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, the “Island Knights,” in September of 2013, completing two deployments in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility. Her first deployment was aboard USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11) on HSC-25, Detachment 1, in support of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5 operations. On her second deployment she was selected as the Assistant Officer in Charge of Detachment 6 aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), operating with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
For her first shore assignment, Davis instructed at Aviation Preflight Indoctrination at Naval Aviation Schools Command in Pensacola, Florida. She instructed over 4,500 officers from the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and allied nations to meet aviation pipeline training requirements. She was named the Officer Instructor of the Year for Fiscal Year 2018. In 2019, Davis reported to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) as an N5 Assessments Action Officer in Bahrain but quickly moved into her role as the Flag Aide to the deputy commander of U.S. 5th Fleet. She served the remainder of her disassociated tour while also serving as a C-12 Huron aircraft pilot, enabling logistics operations in support of Naval Support Activity Bahrain tasking.
Davis reported to the HSC-21 “Blackjacks” as a Department Head in August of 2022. She deployed as the Officer in Charge of Detachment 4 aboard USS Charleston (LCS 18). She served as the command’s Administrative Department Head and completed her tour as HSC-21’s Maintenance Officer.
Davis has accumulated over 1,600 flight hours in rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft. Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various other campaign and unit awards.
