Executive Officer

Cmdr. Drew A. Huston


A native of Mt. Shasta, California, Cmdr. Drew Huston graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2003.  He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in July 2004 and designated a naval aviator in April 2007.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering as well as a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering. Huston completed the Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapon School (CAEWWS) Advanced Mission Commander Course and is a Class 144 graduate of the United States Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS).

Huston’s operational assignments include tours with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 112 as a junior officer and VAW-121 as a department head.  He has deployed twice in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and numerous international exercises in the Western Pacific.

Huston’s shore assignments include tours at Naval Postgraduate School, USNTPS, Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20, and Commander, Naval Air Forces Atlantic (CNAL).  While at VX-20 he served as a developmental test pilot conducting initial flight, envelope expansion, and early operational test of the MQ-4C Triton UAS in addition to testing mission system upgrades for E-2 series aircraft.  In 2015 CDR Huston was selected as the VX-20 Test Pilot of the Year.  At CNAL, Huston served as the as the E-2/C-2 Aircraft Material/Engineering Class Desk Officer where he supported squadrons by planning maintenance intervals, modifications, and transitions to new series aircraft in support of fleet operational requirements. 

Huston has accumulated over 2800 flight hours in 32 different aircraft and over 300 carrier arrested landings.  His decorations include the Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various campaign awards and unit commendations.
