Command Master Chief Anthony Ferretti is a native of Southgate, Michigan. He graduated from high school in Trenton, Michigan. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in September 2006 and attended basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by Fire Controlman “A” School at Naval Service Training Command Great Lakes. His follow-on “C” school training was at Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex, Virginia, where he graduated at the top of his Closed-In Weapon System in Action (CIWS) class. 

Upon graduation, he reported to USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) in Norfolk, Virginia, in February 2008. During this tour, he completed two deployments to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleets, earning his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist qualification and was advanced to Fire Controlman 1st Class. 

In February 2013, Ferretti transferred to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, where he served as a Water Survival Instructor and Leading Petty Officer. He trained more than 100,000 recruits in the 2nd and 3rd class swim qualifications during his three year tour. 

Following Rolling Airframe Missile “C” School, he reported to PCU Little Rock (LCS 9), Crew 115, where he was pinned as a Chief Petty Officer in September 2016. He served as Damage Control Petty Officer (DCPO) and qualified as Tactical Action Officer while deploying to U.S. 4th Fleet. He was selected for advancement to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2020. 

Ferretti transferred to Afloat Training Group (ATG) Mayport in 2021, serving as Surface Warfare and Antiterrorism and Force Protection (ATFP) team leader, Combat Systems DCPO, and Training Liaison Officer. While assigned to ATG, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Purdue Global University. 

In 2024, Ferretti was selected as a Command Senior Chief and began his first Senior Enlisted Leader tour aboard USS Billings (LCS 15), completing the maintenance phase, Tier 1 basic phase, and multiple fleet taskings. He was selected for Command Master Chief in 2025. 

He has assumed the duties as Command Master Chief of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 74 as of October 2025. 

Ferretti’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various personal, unit, and campaign awards. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist breast insignia and is a designated Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist.
