Command Master Chief
CMDCM (AW/SW) Gabriel J. Sinner
Command Master Chief Gabriel J. Sinner is a native of Riverton, Wyoming. He enlisted in October 2001 and graduated from Recruit Training Command in January 2002.
At sea, Sinner served aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), USS Juneau (LPD 10), USS Denver (LPD 9), USS Essex (LHD 2), and USS Mason (DDG 87). While onboard USS Essex, he served as the Steam Generating Plant Inspector (SGPI) and “Top Snipe”.
While onboard USS Mason, he served as the Command Master Chief. He earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist insignia and his Aviation Warfare insignia aboard USS Kitty Hawk. He also qualified as an Engineering Officer of the Watch aboard USS Juneau, USS Denver, and USS Essex.
Ashore, Sinner served at both Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) and Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) as the Steam Generating Plant Inspector. He also served at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters as the United States Navy’s “Top Snipe.”
Sinner is a graduate from the Senior Enlisted Academy and CMC/COB course. He was promoted to Master Chief in 2015 while serving as “Top Snipe” aboard USS Essex. Sinner served as the Command Master Chief for Afloat Training Group Mayport.
He is currently assigned to the Tactical Operation Center Jacksonville, Florida as the Command Master Chief.
Sinner’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corp AchievementMedal (five awards) and various personal, unit, and campaign awards.
