Command Master Chief
CMDCM (AW/SW) William J. Eason
Master Chief William Eason, a native of Columbus, Ga, and raised in Huntsville, AL, graduated from Lee High School in 1994 and entered the United States Navy in 1996. After completing Fireman training, he reported to his first duty assignment aboard the USS McKee (AS-41) where he received his Surface Warfare qualifications. He decommissioned USS McKee (AS-41) in October of 1999. He then received orders to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 3, Det Travis, where he cross rated to Master At Arms and was promoted to both Second and First Class Petty Officer. Other assignments include Naval Base Guam Security Detachment, NAS Whiting Field Security Detachment, NSA Souda Bay Security Detachment, and USS Rushmore (LSD-47).
He was then stationed at Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic working with the Marine Corps Security Detachment where he attended the Senior Enlisted Academy, and was promoted to the rank of Master Chief. He later transferred to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Security Detachment where he was selected for the Command Master Chief (CMC) Program and attended the CMC course in Newport, RI.
In September 2016, Eason checked into Patrol Squadron (VP) 26 and assumed the duties as CMC. In Feb. 2020, he reported to Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 11 as the command master chief.
Eason holds an associate's Degree from Vincennes University, and a bachelor degree in Homeland Security and Public Safety from the University of Management and Technology. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and numerous unit and campaign awards.
