Command Master Chief
CMDCM Avagayle Williams


A native of Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, Command Master Chief (CMC) Avagayle Williams enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2000. After completing basic training at Recruit Training Command (RTC) in Great Lakes, Illinois, she went to Meridian, Mississippi, to complete Aviation Storekeeper “A” school.

Her subsequent operational assignments included Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 1, where she served as material control supervisor; USS Sterett (DDG -104), where she served as stock control and Hazardous Material Leading Petty Officer (LPO); USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7), where she served as leading Logistics Specialist and stock control Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO);  and the command senior enlisted leader of Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Systems (AAMDSRO) in Deveselu, Romania.

Her previous shore assignments included airfreight supervisor at Naval Station Rota Spain; Recruit Division Commander (RDC) at RTC; supply officer at Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Empire State; an isolated duty tour at Naval Support Activity Souda Bay, Crete; and the CMC of Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facilities Jacksonville.

Williams is a Navy Senior Enlisted Academy graduate, Class 204 (Grey Group), and CMC/Chief of the Boat Course graduate in Newport, Rhode Island. Her awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (7 awards), and numerous unit awards and commendations. She graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science in Business and from Fayetteville State University with MBAs in Business Intelligence Data Analytics and Project Management.

She commenced CMC duties at Patrol and Reconnaissance Squadron (VP) 26 on 23 February 2023.
