Congratulations on your orders to the Navy’s largest master jet base!  We look forward to you joining our dynamic TEAM and hope that serving with the Aviation Support Detachment (ASD) Oceana will be a highlight in your naval career.  The world events of today mean new and exciting challenges for the ASD mission.  What this means, is your tour will be demanding as well as rewarding and the command leadership is dedicated to ensuring your success both personally and professionally.
 
You will soon receive your welcome aboard package, which contains information designed to familiarize you with the Virginia Beach area.  Your sponsor will be contacting you to ask you if you have any concerns and to find out what can be done to help you get settled into the area and the command’s operational tempo.  Whether you are single or have a family there is a lot to do in this community that truly embraces the U.S. Navy.
 
Getting adjusted to a new command can be difficult; however, communication with your sponsor should help ease the transition.  Once again, we look forward to your arrival and joining the TEAM! "Can't fly without supply!"
