CMDCM (AW/SW) Daniel Arroyo
Master Chief Daniel “Danny” Arroyo is a native of The Bronx, New York. He enlisted in the United States Navy and reported for basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois in April 1999.
Master Chief Arroyo completed Aviation Machinist Mate (AD) “A” school located in Pensacola, Florida in August of 1999 before reporting to his first command, Fighter Squadron FOURTEEN (VF 14) “Top Hatters” in NAS Oceana Virginia Beach, Virginia. While assigned to the Top Hatters he deployed on board the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65), supporting Operation Southern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001. The deployment marked an end to the F-14 Tomcat era for the Top Hatters as they homeport shifted to NAS Lemoore, California and transitioned to the F/A 18E Super Hornet in 2002. He deployed on board the USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003. Master Chief Arroyo attended Master-at-Arms (MA) “A” School in 2004 following a rate conversion approval. His Subsequent Sea duty tours include the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), USS VICKSBURG (CG 69), and Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Kings Bay, Georgia. His shore duty assignments include Security Department Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, Recruit Division Commander and Recruit Division Commander “C” School Instructor, Great Lakes, Illinois.
In 2017 he was selected to the Command Senior Chief rating and advanced to Command Master Chief. He reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE THREE ONE (VFA 131) the “Wildcats” in Oceana, Virginia, where he served as the Command Master Chief from October 2017 to September 2020. While assigned to the Wildcats, he deployed on board the DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. He then reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron FIVE (HSC 5) the “Night Dippers” in Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, as the Command Master Chief from September 2020 through December 2021. In January 2022 he reported to his current assignment as the Command Master Chief of Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic in Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.
Master Chief Arroyo is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 206 (Blue), and the Command Master Chief course. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards. He is also qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Nuclear Weapons Security, and Master Training Specialist.
