WELCOME ABOARD!
Carrier Air Wing THREE is a tenant command located on Naval Air Station Oceana. NAS Oceana lies 16 miles east of the city of Norfolk within the city limits of Virginia Beach. The Air station is tucked away among the tall trees, swamps and farmland just west of the waterfront. NAS Oceana consists of 6,000 acres with approximately 8,000 military, 11,000 family members and 1,700 civilian employees. ARRIVING BY CAR
From I-64 take I-264 East to First Colonial Road (Exit 20). Proceed on First Colonial to Virginia Beach Blvd (first stoplight) and turn left. Follow Virginia Beach Blvd for approximately 1/2 mile to Oceana Blvd and turn right. Follow Oceana Blvd for 4 miles (pass railroad tracks) and exit (veer) right on Tomcat Blvd. Tomcat Blvd is the main road leading to the front gate. Once through the Main Gate, proceed to “F” street and make a right. Building 240 will be the first building on your left.
ARRIVING BY PLANE
If you are reporting via airplane, you will be arriving at Norfolk International Airport, which is located approximately 20 miles West of NAS Oceana. There is a Navy Representative on duty at the Airport Military Information Booth, located in the main lobby of the airport. Information is available to military personnel reporting to the area from 0800 to 0000 seven days a week. The military Information Booth can be reached by calling (757) 444-3040. We recommend you contact your sponsor at least 24hrs in advance to help coordinate lodging and transportation.
If you do not have a sponsor there to meet you, the airport limousine service will take you to Naval Air Station Oceana Quarterdeck for about $30.

All reporting personnel must stop at the CVW-3 Admin Office (Room 127), which is through the main entrance, left down the main passageway, first door on the right. Here you will have your orders endorsed and will be provided check-in procedures by our admin personnel.
