Welcome Aboard! Congratulations on receiving orders to the “Dragon Whales” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two Eight. HSC-28 is home ported in Norfolk, Virginia and deploys with units of the Second, Fifth and Sixth Fleets.

HSC-28 is located at the Chambers Field heliport in the Eastern side of Building LF-59.

Upon your arrival to HSC-28 check in with the Quarter deck to get your orders stamped. During normal working hours, proceed to Admin to receive your check in sheet. Make sure to bring your travel receipts so you can fill out your travel claim. You will also need to update your Page 2 and SGLI with Admin at that time.

Every Sailor that checks into HSC-28 will be assigned a sponsor to assist them with checking in, learning the area, and settling in. If you have not received information on how to contact your sponsor please call the Command Career Counselor at 757-445-9188 , or the Quarter Deck at 757-444-4558.

Directions to the Squadron: From destinations North: I-64E to exit 276 for I-564W. Take I-564W to the exit for Gate 3 and 3A. Go through Gate 3A on to Bainbridge rd. Follow Bainbridge through two lights and end in the HSC-28 parking lot.

From Destinations South and West: Take I-85 North and Merge onto 58 east via exit 12A toward Emporia/Norfolk. Merge onto I-664 South Hampton Roads belt toward I-264 East Portsmouth/I-64/Norfolk/US-13 North/Virginia Beach. Merge onto I-264 East via EXIT 15A on the LEFT toward Portsmouth/Norfolk . Merge then onto I-64W towards Richmond. Keep LEFT to take I-564 W via EXIT 276B toward VA-406/Naval Base/Terminal Boulevard. Take the exit toward Naval Station/Naval Air Station/Gates 3A & 3. Go through Gate 3A on to Bainbridge rd. Follow Bainbridge through two lights and end in the HSC-28 parking lot.
