Command Master Chief
CMDCM (AW/SW/EXW/IW) Kelvin B. Lee
Command Master Chief Kelvin B. Lee assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) 120 in May of 2022.
Lee was born and raised in Alma, Georgia. He graduated from Bacon County High School in May 1997 and enlisted in the Navy in August that same year. He attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by Seaman Apprentice “A” School at Naval Training Center (NTC) Great Lakes, Illinois.
Lee’s sea tours consist of the USS Inchon (MCS 12) serving as deck department leading seaman, USS Barry (DDG 52) serving as independent duty master-at-arms, Kabul, Afghanistan, serving as a force protection advisor and lead convoy commander, and Coastal Riverine Squadron 2 as acting command master chief for 3 months, training department leading chief petty officer, and Alpha Company senior enlisted leader.
Lee’s shore duties consist of endodontics department leading petty officer and dental training department assistant leading petty officer at National Naval Dental Center in Bethesda, Maryland, lead investigator and patrol supervisor at Naval Security Force Detachment Guam, security department leading petty officer at Wallops Island security detachment, and security department leading chief petty officer at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown.
Lee was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) program as a Command Senior Chief (CMDCS) in February of 2018. His CSEL tours include Naval Support Facility Redzikowo, Poland, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Crew 124, Pre-Commissioning Detachment (PCD) Cooperstown, and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 46.
Lee holds an Associate of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in personal training, and is a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Leadership Course.
Lee is a qualified Aviation Warfare, Surface Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare, and Information Warfare Specialist.
Lee’s decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), along with numerous service and campaign awards.
