Cmdr. Jeffrey C. Storer
Cmdr. Jeffrey C. Storer, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering. Following commissioning, he earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He was designated a naval aviator in 2009 and reported to the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 41 “Seahawks” in San Diego, California, for training as an MH-60R fleet replacement pilot.
Storer’s first sea tour was with the HSM-77 “Saberhawks”, where he made two deployments to the Arabian Gulf as a detachment operations officer onboard USS Halsey (DDG 97) and as naval air training and operating procedures standardization officer and quality assurance officer onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72).
In 2013, following completion of the SEAWOLF Course at Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon, Nevada, Storer reported to HSM Weapons School Pacific as a Seahawk weapons and tactics instructor. At the weapons school, he served as the electronic warfare program manager, standardization officer, training officer, and administration officer.
Storer reported to the “Vipers” of HSM-48 in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2016 for his department head tour. While at HSM-48, he served as the maintenance officer, aviation safety officer, and detachment officer-in-charge (OIC) where he embarked USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109) for pre-deployment exercises with the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) carrier strike group. He was selected as the 2018 squadron Officer of the Year.
In 2019, Storer reported to United States Northern Command (NORTHCOM) Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region in Washington D.C. where he served as the J38 contingency coordination center (CCC) OIC. During this tour, Storer led the J38 CCC team by coordinating joint Department of Defense operational units with over 27 federal and state agencies providing continuity of government support for several national special security events, including the 59th presidential inauguration.
Storer reported as executive officer to the “Proud Warriors” of HSM-72 in January 2022 and assumed command in May 2023.
