Cmdr. Luke Huston
Cmdr. Luke Huston is a native of Menasha, Wisconsin, and a 2004 Graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He was designated a Naval Aviator in June 2006.
Huston’s operational sea tours include Patrol and Reconnaissance Squadron (VP) 9 based in Kaneohe, Hawaii, where he served as pilot training officer; USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75) in Norfolk, Virginia, as assistant navigator; and VP-40 in Whidbey Island, Washington, as maintenance officer. Huston has completed multiple deployments to U.S. 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleets in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.
His shore assignments include a tour with VP-30 in Jacksonville, Florida as a P-3C Fleet Replacement Squadron instructor pilot; U.S. Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska as a strategic planner in the Plans and Policy Directorate; and Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Weapons School (MPRWS), Jacksonville, Florida.
In May 2022 he assumed duties as the Executive Officer of VP-10.
Personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal (4 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and other various personal, unit and service awards. He holds a Master of Science degree in Operations Management
