Command Master Chief
CMDCM Tom Curtin
Master Chief Tom Curtin currently serves as the Command Master Chief of Patrol and Reconnaissance Squadron (VP) 5 in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a native of Jersey City, New Jersey. Upon joining the Navy in November of 1996, he attended Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Following that, he completed Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Submarine Fire Control Technician "A" school in Groton, Connecticut. He attended Fire Control Technician "C" school in Kings Bay, Georgia. He later converted to an Information Systems Technician (Submarines) in 2010. He completed the qualifications for Chief of the Boat in 2012 and was selected for Command Master Chief in 2021.
His sea duty assignments include USS Tennessee (SSBN 734)(Blue) serving as the lead network administrator / FT Division Leading Petty Officer, USS Georgia (SSGN 729)(Gold) serving as the Navigation/Operations Department Enlisted Advisor. He has served as the Chief of the Boat on USS Alaska (SSBN 732)(Blue) and USS Florida (SSGN 728)(Gold). Ashore he was assigned to Center for Information Dominance serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader and Submarine Squadron 16 (CSS 16) serving as the communications department chief.
Master Chief Curtin is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 200 (Gold) and the Command Master Chief / Chief of the Boat Course Class 165.
