CMDCM Chelsie Sampson
Command Master Chief Chelsie Sampson is a native of Barnesville, Ohio. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 2008 and attended basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of basic training, she attended Apprentice Technical Training at Great Lakes, followed by Sonar Technician “A” School and MK-116 Underwater Fire Control System“C” School in San Diego, California.
Her operational assignments include USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81), where she served as an MK-116 Technician and Training Petty Officer; USS Barry (DDG 52) as an MK-116 Technician and Work Center Supervisor; USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) as the Combat Acoustics Division Leading Chief Petty Officer; and USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79), where she served as the Surface Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare Specialist (SSAS), Combat Acoustics Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, Weapons Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Executive Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
Her shore assignments include Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station in Pensacola, Florida, where she served as a Naval Military Training Instructor and N9 Department Leading Petty Officer; Farragut Technical Analysis Center, Office of Naval Intelligence
(FTAC ONI), in Suitland, Maryland, as an Acoustic Intelligence Trainee; and Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) San Diego, California, where she served as Assistant Director of Training and Leading Chief Petty Officer.
Sampson is a graduate of Class 254 of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy. She was selected for Command Senior Chief in March 2024, attended the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course in May 2024, and reported to Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina, as the Senior Enlisted Advisor. She was selected for Command Master Chief in March 2025 and assumed her current duties as Command Master Chief of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 131 in November 2025.
She is qualified as a Master Training Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist. Her personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit, service, and campaign awards.
