CMDCM Jeremy "Chad" Mitchell
Command Master Chief Chad Mitchell, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, graduated from North Forsyth High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 1999. After completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, and Damage Control “A” School, he reported to, Pre-Commissioning Unit Winston S Churchill (DDG 81) stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and Bath, Maine.
He is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 233, and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course, class 23080, Newport, Rhode Island. He has earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare, Surface Warfare Specialist, and Navy Security Force Master Specialist designation.
Mitchell’s sea and operational assignments include; USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81), Norfolk, Virginia; Operation Vigilant Mariner, C6F/C5F, Mobile Security Detachment 24 and Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron SIX, Portsmouth, Virginia; USS Mahan (DDG 72), Norfolk Virginia; Maritime Expeditionary Security Group TWO, Detachment Bahrain, Manama, Bahrain, Coastal Riverine Squadron TWO and Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron TWO, Virginia Beach, Virginia; USS George Washington (CVN 73), Newport News, Virginia. He is currently assigned as the Command Master Chief for Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 37, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
His shore tours include; Public Safety, Naval Support Activity Northwest Annex, Chesapeake, Virginia; Commander Naval Surface Force Atlantic, Norfolk Virginia; and Maritime Expeditionary Security Group TWO, Training Evaluation Unit, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Mitchell’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7), Meritorious Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and other personal, unit, and campaign awards.
