Welcome to the VRM-40 "Mighty Bison" website!
VRM-40’s mission is to provide worldwide joint combat logistics and rapid personnel transport, delivering critical readiness, sustainability, and lethality to the Carrier Strike Group.
Operating the versatile CMV-22B Osprey aircraft, our four deployable detachments—each comprised of three aircraft and 88 personnel—ensure the fleet is sustained with high-priority cargo and personnel from shore to sea, even into the most austere environments. The Mighty Bison squadron is proudly composed of over 330 enlisted personnel and 38 officers who operate and maintain our 12 aircraft.
