Command Master Chief
AWSCM (NAC/AW) Jeffrey Smith
Master Chief Jeffrey Smith is a native of Port Sanilac, Michigan. He graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1990. In February 1992, he reported to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, IL, where he completed Basic and Seaman Apprenticeship Training. Master Chief Smith then reported to Pensacola, FL, where he attended Aviation Ordnance “A” School followed by Naval Aircrew Candidate School and Aviation Rescue Swimmer School.
Smith’s sea duty assignments include the Guided Missile Frigate USS Sides (FFG-14), Fleet Composite Squadron (VC) 8 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, Helicopter Combat Support Squadron (HC) 5 at NAS Agana, Guam, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 22 at Naval Station (NS) Norfolk, Virginia, and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 at NAS Agana, Guam.
Smith’s shore duty assignments include the Afloat Training Group Norfolk, Virginia, Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 12, Norfolk, VA, and his current position as the senior enlisted leader of Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Atlantic.
Smith’s academic achievements include an associate’s degree in General Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), the Navy Good Conduct Medal (7 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
