LSCS (AW/SW) Omar Gallardo
Senior Chief Logistics Specialist Omar Gallardo, a native of Newark, New Jersey, graduated from North 13th Vocational High School in May 1998. He enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2001 and, after completing basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Logistics Specialist “A” School in Meridian, Mississippi.
At sea, his assignments included USS Bunker Hill (CG 52), USS Peleliu (LHA 5), USS Russell (DDG 59), USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), homeported in San Diego, California, and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), homeported in Norfolk, Virginia.
On shore, his shore assignments included Tactical Air Control Squadron (TACRON) 11 and Surface and Undersea Warfare Development Squadron (SUWDIV) 11, both located at Naval Station San Diego.
Gallardo’s current assignment at Aviation Support Detachment Oceana in September 2025 as the Senior Enlisted Leader.
Gallardo’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Good Conduct Medal (seven awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
