Logistics Specialist Senior Chief John Laureda reported to his current assignment at Aviation Support Detachment Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA in Jun 2019 as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader and ASD Leading Chief Petty Officer.  

A native of Kissimmee Florida, Senior Chief Laureda graduated from Gateway High School in 2001. He enlisted in the United States Navy in May 2001 under the Delayed Entry Program. He completed basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL. Upon completion of boot camp he reported to NAS Pensacola, FL and completed Airman Apprenticeship Training School in August 2001.

His sea duty assignments include Supply Support Leading Chief Petty Officer, USS Carney (DDG 64) homeported in Rota, Spain, Material Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) homeported in Norfolk, VA, Stock Control (S-1) Work Center Supervisor, USS kitty Hawk (CV-63) homeported Yokosuka, Japan.       

Shore assignments include Command Senior Enlisted leader and Joint Aviation Supply Maintenance Material Management instructor, Navy Supply Corps School, Newport, RI.  Material Control Leading Petty Officer, HSL-49, San Diego, CA.

Senior Chief Laureda’s personal awards include: Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Good Conduct Medal (six awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
