Supply Officer
Cmdr. Paul J. Kloepping
Cmdr. Paul Kloepping currently serves as the Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk – regional supply officer for Aviation Support Detachment Oceana providing logistics support to Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana tenant commands to include Commander Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic and Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA).
He is a 2007 graduate of Texas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in public relations. He attended Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, and was commissioned in December 2007. In 2008, he graduated from the Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, Georgia. Additionally, Kloepping earned a Master of Business Administration in acquisition and contract management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
Kloepping’s operational assignments include plank owner on USS New York (LPD 21), serving as the assistant supply officer. During this tour, he qualified as a surface warfare supply corps officer and surface search and rescue swimmer. In 2010, he volunteered for a global support assignment at Central Command Deployment and Distribution Operation Center in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. In 2012, he became the Supply department head on USS Benfold (DDG 65) serving as the supply officer. In 2020, while at U.S. Special Operations Command, he deployed for six months as the J4 Director for a numbered Task Force.
His shore assignments include flag aide to Commander, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania; Fleet Logistics Center Bahrain Code 200 Husbanding support supervisor for the 5th Fleet area of operations; Naval Air Systems Command as a contract specialist supporting Program Executive Office (PEO) Unmanned Aviation and Strike Warfare, U.S. Special Operations Command as the Acquisition Cross Service Agreement program manager and Joint Logistics Operations Center battle captain, and regional supply officer for Aviation Support Detachment Norfolk providing logistical support to Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Atlantic, Airborne Command & Control Logistics Wing and FRCMA.
Kloepping’s professional certifications include DAWIA Level III in Contracting, Joint Professional Military Education Level I and is a member of the Acquisition Corps. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (3), Navy Commendation Medal (3), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) along with a number of unit and campaign awards. He is qualified as a Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer.
