Supply Officer
Lt. Cmdr. Justin M. Hunnell
Lt. Cmdr. Hunnell earned a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management from Michigan State University, and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Acquisition and Contract Management from Naval Postgraduate School Monterey, California.
His military service began with commissioning through Officer Candidate School, Rhode Island, in May 2010 and completed the Supply Corps Basic Qualification Course in Athens, Georgia, in 2010.
His afloat assignments include Aviation Support Division Officer, USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and Supply Officer to USS Connecticut (SSN 22). Awarded the Supply Blue “E” for Logistics Excellence with both commands. He deployed to 5th Fleet in support of Operation Inherent Resolve onboard USS Nimitz and completed one Western Pacific Deployment, an Ice Exercise (ICEX) Deployment and commenced an Integrated Logistics Overhaul onboard USS Connecticut.
His shore assignments include Comptroller/Travel Officer and Material Control Officer, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 1; Shore Readiness Officer on the staff of Naval Air Force Atlantic and F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft Air Vehicle Branch Head, Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support.
Hunnell now serves as the Supply Officer for Aviation Support Detachment (ASD) Oceana.
Hunnell is authorized to wear the Naval Aviation Supply Corps Officer, Supply Submarine Warfare Officer and Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer warfare designation. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various campaign awards.
