CMDCM (SS) Jose M. Rivera

Command Master Chief (CMC) Jose M. Rivera a native of Caguas, Puerto Rico and Rochester, New York, enlisted in the Navy in November 2003.
His sea tours include USS San Juan (SSN 751) (2004 to 2009, two US Central Command (USCENTCOM) deployments), USS Virginia (SSN 774) as the auxiliary division leading petty officer (LPO) and later as the auxiliary division leading chief petty officer (LCPO) (2012 to 2014, one US European Command (USEUCOM) deployment and one surge deployment), and USS Dallas (SSN 700) as the auxiliary division LCPO (2014 to 2016, one USEUCOM/USCENTCOM deployment).
His shore tours include auxiliary division LPO of performance monitoring team New London, and ship superintendent LCPO and later inside/outside machinery repair division LCPO at Naval Submarine Support Repair Facility in Groton, Connecticut.
Rivera reported for Chief of the Boat duty aboard USS Pasadena (SSN 752) in October 2019. He completed one Ice Exercise deployment, Wolf Pack operations and advanced to master chief petty officer, and selected as a CMC during this tour.
Rivera reported to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 103 as CMC in March 2023.
He is a 2018 graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, and is authorized to wear the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards) and various other personal and unit awards.
