Cmdr. Jeffrey Creighan

Cmdr. Jeffrey Creighan, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, attended Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering. Upon graduation Creighan reported to Pensacola, Florida, for Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in October 2003. After commissioning, he remained in Pensacola for flight training and was designated a naval flight officer in July 2005. Following completion of initial training, he was ordered to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 122 in Lemoore, California, for follow-on training as a F/A-18F weapon systems officer.
Creighan’s aviation operational sea tours include VFA-41 in Lemoore, California; Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 in Lemoore, California; and VFA-94 in Lemoore, California; he made five deployments embarked on USS Nimitz (CVN 68), USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve, and Freedom's Sentinel.
Creighan’s shore tours include instructor duty at VFA-122, a student at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island where he earned a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies, and as the VFA junior officer and department head detailer and assistant captain detailer at Navy Personnel Command, PERS-43, in Millington, Tennessee. Following his tour at PERS-43, Creighan reported to VFA-106 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, for F/A-18 refresher training prior to his ordered report date of November 2021 as executive officer of VFA-103.
Creighan has accumulated over 2,500 flight hours and over 450 traps. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike Flight Air Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
