CMDCM Trey Hauptmann


 

Master Chief Hauptmann is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1995. Upon completing Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Hospital Corpsman “A” School at Great Lakes.
 
From 1996 to 1999, he served with Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division and 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he deployed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Sierra Leone in Africa. In late 1999, he reported to the Branch Medical Clinic in Mayport, Florida. In 2002, in Mayport, he checked onboard the USS Spruance (DD 963), where he completed a North Lights tour and 2004 deployment to the Persian Gulf, later decommissioning the ship in March 2005.
 
From 2005 to 2006, he was attached to Marine Air Control Group 28, Cherry Point, North Carolina. He deployed to Iraq to support the Iraqi Governance, and National Resolution campaigns, performing Casualty Evacuation missions with Helicopter Marine Medium Squadron 161, thus earning his Combat Air Crew wings. In 2006, he reported to Marine Air Control Squadron 23, Denver, Colorado, as the Senior Medical Department Representative where he deployed and mobilized Marine Corps reservists to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa. In 2009 he was selected for Chief Petty Officer.
 
In 2010, he took an Individual Augmentee assignment with Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center, San Diego, California, attached to the 82nd and 101st Airborne Sustainment Brigades, assembling medical clinics and supporting logistical convoys throughout Afghanistan. In 2012, he transferred to Navy Recruiting District Denver in Colorado. In 2015 he reported to the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) homeported in Bremerton, Washington, where he completed an EPIA and their 2017 deployment. In 2017 he transferred to Naval Health Clinic New England (NHCNE) where he served as NHCNE Newport Senior Enlisted Leader. During his tour in Newport, Rhode Island, he was advanced to Master Chief and selected into the Command Master Chief program. He is now serving as Command Master Chief with VFA-11 “The Red Rippers,” homeported at NAS Oceana, Virginia.
 
Master Chief Hauptmann is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 184. His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with two strike flights, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), the Army Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6), the Army Achievement Medal, as well as numerous unit, campaign, and service awards.
