Command Master Chief Aaron Davis is a native of Des Moines, Iowa, and he enlisted in the Navy on October 24, 1996. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, he reported to Airman Apprenticeship Training School (ATD) to obtain his basic knowledge of seamanship. After completion of ATD, Davis reported to USS Nimitz, where he spent his first five years in deck department and completed one deployment and refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH). While on Nimitz, he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist qualification and advanced to Third Class Petty Officer.

In 2001 he reported to Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet Boathouse in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. While at the Boathouse, he was the barge coxswain for Adm. Thomas Fargo, Adm. Walter Doran, and Adm. Jonathan Greenert and was advanced to Second Class Petty Officer. 

In July 2004, he checked in to Mobile Security Squadron 6 Boat Detachment 612. While attached to Boat Detachment 612, he was deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  While deployed, he served as tactical supervisor for embarked security teams, mission commander on Kaaot (Iraq Oil Terminal), and leading chief petty officer (LCPO) and patrol leader in the UAE. He was advanced to Petty Officer First Class and Chief Petty Officer while at Squadron 6, and he also earned his Small Craft Insignia and Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist Qualification.

In June 2009 he transferred to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Atlantic (EWTGLANT) where he was the command career counselor, suicide prevention coordinator, and equal opportunity representative. In 2012, he graduated from Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Craftmaster School then checked in to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4 and completed two deployments on USS Kearsarge and USS Iwo Jima earning his Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist Qualifications.

In February of 2019 he reported back to EWTGLANT as a craftmaster instructor and N9 LCPO. Davis was selected as a command senior chief in March of 2019 and immediately selected for orders as the command senior chief of USS Billinings in June 2019. Davis was selected to Master Chief on the USS Billings. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, and CMC/COB class 2019.

His decorations include five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and various unit and campaign awards.
