CMCCommand Master Chief Vena S. Ramirez reported to Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois in October 2001 and attended Yeoman “A” School in Meridian, Mississippi where she was accelerated advanced to Petty Officer Third Class. She has served in a myriad of sea duty assignments, including Administrative Leading Petty Officer, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit Eleven, Whidbey Island, Washington; Commanding Officer’s Administrative Leading Petty Officer, USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) homeported in Norfolk, Virginia; and Administrative Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 213, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
 
Ramirez was selected for the Flag Writer Program in June 2013 and attended Yeoman “C” School in Meridian, Mississippi.  Her Flag Writer assignments include Flag Writer for Commander, Rear Admiral Patrick H. Brady and Vice Admiral David H. Lewis, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, California, which is now the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command; Flag Writer for Deputy Commander, Vice Admiral David M. Kriete, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska; and Flag Writer for U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF), Norfolk, Virginia. Her Shore assignments include Commanding Officer’s Administrative Assistant, Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine; and Recruit Division Commander, Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, where she received the 8RDC NEC and received the Recruit Division Commander Distinguished Leadership Award.
 
Ramirez’s warfare qualifications include:  Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist.
 
Ramirez was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program in 2021 and served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach and she was selected for the Command Master Chief Program in 2024. She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 189/Green) and CMC/COB Course (Class 080) and awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy, and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5th Award), Meritorious Unit Commendation Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award as well as many other campaign awards. Her academic achievements include a Master of Science degree in Management from Excelsior University.  She was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society after graduating with a 4.00 grade point average.
 
She assumed the duties as VFA-11 "Red Rippers" on 8 May 2024.
