Command Master Chief 
CMDCM(AW) Daniel P. Flynn


A native of Brunswick, Maine, Command Master Chief Daniel Flynn enlisted in the United States Navy in November 2001. After completing basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, he went to Pensacola, Florida, to complete Aviation Electrician’s Mate “A” school.
 
His operational assignments include Patrol Squadron (VP) 26, where he served as leading petty officer, quality assurance representative, and collateral duty inspector; Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 72, where he served as maintenance chief and leading petty officer; and VP-26 where he served as maintenance supervisor and division leading chief petty officer.
 
His shore assignments include Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Detachment (AIMD) Norfolk, Virginia, where he served as a collateral duty inspector and electrical technician; Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), Jacksonville, Florida, where he served as the production control and quality assurance leading petty officer, quality assurance representative, and collateral duty inspector; VP-30, where he served as maintenance supervisor, quality assurance supervisor, and division leading chief petty officer; and served as the senior enlisted advisor of 4th Battalion, United States Military Entrance Processing Command and the Cleveland Military Entrance Processing Station.
 
Flynn is a Navy Senior Enlisted Academy graduate, Class 236 (Gold Group), and CMC/COB Course graduate in Newport, Rhode Island. His awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (7 awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (2 awards) and numerous other unit awards and commendations. He graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville with an Associate’s in Arts.
